A University of Maryland survey conducted in May of 2022 of 2,091 adults, found 61% of republicans are in favor of the United States being declared a Christian nation.
36% of Independent, 17% of Democrat voters were also in in favor of the United states being declared a Christian nation.
The total of those in favor of declaring the U.S. a Christian nation was 38%. vs. 62% opposing.
57% of Republicans surveyed think the U.S constitution would not allow the government to decalre the United States a Christian nation vs 43% who think it would.
