India's open Islamophobia and religiose persecution draws condemnation across the Muslim world

Qatar  government calls for a public apology over BJP member comments against the prophet Muhammad

International backlash and out rage is growing after a ruling party official made Islamophobic remarks during a live televised debate in India. Following last weeks report by the U.S commission of religious freedom calling out India for growing religious violence and persecution often supported and encouraged by members of the ruling BJP party international calls for action are growing.

Five Muslim nations, Pakistan and Afghanistan lodged official complains against India after weekend comments made by two members of Prime minister Modi's BJP party.

Outrage and calls for boycotting India spread over social media. In Kuwait Indian products have already been removed from store shelves in response to the insults, with other Muslim nations expected to follow suit.

The systematic hate speech is nothing new in India but concerns and calls for action are growing over the extent it is openly supported by India' ruling party officials. India the worlds most populace democracy is home to a diversity of religious minorities with Muslims making up roughly 14% India's total population.

Insulting the prophet Muhammad is a clear red line to Muslims.

Protests in Mumbai and other cities across India ensued with the BJP party known for inflammatory remarks against religious minorities working on damage control.

BJP party members Nupur Sharma and Naveer Kumar Jindal were suspended. Naveer, the head of BJP Dehli Media was later expelled.
